Gordon Franks started Optima Design Group while paying his own way through the University of Maryland. He was not looking to build a brand. He was solving a problem and he was good at it. What began as a way to fund his education became something that outlasted the degree: a remodeling company grounded in the belief that doing the job right the first time is always cheaper than doing it twice.
That was more than 50 years ago. Since then, we have completed thousands of projects across Montgomery County from bathroom reconstructions in Bethesda to deck refinishing in Potomac to kitchen remodels in Rockville. The neighborhoods have changed. The materials have evolved. But the standard Gordon set from day one has not moved.
We are still a family-owned, owner-supervised operation. Gordon still connects personally with every client.
